🍉 Gaza Support Hub
Gaza Support Hub is a volunteer, citizen-led effort to support and uplift the people of Palestine.
In addition to the genocide inflicted upon them, Palestinians are being silenced and suppressed on social media. Even after verifying their accounts, many have been permanently banned and forced to create new accounts and start fresh. All the major social media players are complicit in the censorship of Palestinian voices and those who support them.
Bluesky's moderation policies, in particular, have seen hundreds of Palestinian accounts banned and permanently deleted. Palestinians rely on Bluesky — a channel which has billed itself as "the good place" compared to other platforms — to amplify their fundraisers for food, medicine, and other critical humanitarian relief.
Gaza Support Hub was built in direct response to Bluesky's willful ignorance of an open letter (signed by thousands of users, including us) urging them to revise their harmful moderation policies.
This website is currently under construction. It will include mutual aid campaigns and stories of Palestinian families, as well as an honor roll and obituary section where families can honor their loved ones properly.
Most importantly, once a fundraising campaign is vetted and added to the Gaza Support Hub, it won't be removed. Even if your social media accounts are removed, banned, or suppressed, your fundraiser will still be here, and we'll still be working to get it in front of as many people as we can.
Everyday citizens just like you who are sick of watching a live-streamed genocide.
Each of us were "just" one person before we combined our skills, talents, and passions to bring this website to life.
When states fail, we, the people, must step in, step up, and speak out.
We don't vet campaigns. We share campaigns that have already been vetted. This is a very important distinction — we have never allowed one submission to our campaigns list at the time of writing.
That said, some of the volunteers contributing to this website are personally connected with some of the Palestinian families featured here. We've "vetted" them the same way you might "vet" anyone you talk to online — we video chat with them, we exchange voice messages and videos, we text often enough to know their tone and style.
The handful of campaigns here that have been "vetted" independently by our volunteers are shared here with confidence that these are real people who are starving, suffering, and grieving from this war. And if you don't believe us, many of the same families we're connected with extend open invites to anyone who wishes to confirm their identity.
Not quite yet, but we hope to open submissions soon. As we mentioned, we're all volunteers with limited bandwidth. Gathering the existing vetted campaigns, building the website, and conducting outreach to amplify it has been an enormous effort. We currently do not have the time, or skills, to organize a vetting and submission process.
As we continue to grow, we hope this will change so that we can open our doors to all Palestinians in need. We appreciate your understanding, and we'll keep you updated.
To the best of our knowledge, no. We've taken great care to ensure this website is 100% divested from all companies and causes that support genocide.
We're hosted with an EU-based company that runs on 100% renewable energy. We use open-source frameworks to design the site.
No. The only way we'll know if you donated to a campaign through our website is if you tell us yourself.
We don't use customized tracked links to spy on who clicks or makes donations through any of our links. For transparency, we also don't include shortlinks anywhere on our site. Hover over a link to see exactly where it will take you when you click it — almost always to a GoFundMe or Chuffed fundraiser, or another page on our website.
Okay. So don't donate, then.
We take absolutely no responsibility for your decision whether to donate. Our site is simply meant to be a resource for people who want to support and uplift Palestinians in need.
No. This website generates absolutely $0 in revenue or profit. We actually pay for hosting, domain, and maintenance costs out of our own pockets.
To keep it simple, we don't accept tips, "coffees", or monetary compensation of any kind for the work we do here at Gaza Support Hub. This website is 100% a volunteer-led effort to raise awareness of humanitarian aid funds.
If you'd like to support us, we really appreciate it — and we encourage you to donate to one of the families featured here instead. They need it a lot more than we do.
Thanks so much! Right now, we're keeping our volunteer group limited to invites only.
